Essential Packing List for Dancers: What to Bring for Their Revue

What to Pack Your Dancer for the Fusion 2025 Revue: "Very Superstitious" 🎭🧹✨

It’s that magical time of year again — costumes are sparkly, hair is high, and the theater is buzzing with excitement. The Fusion 2025 Revue, “Very Superstitious,” is just around the corner, and as every dance parent knows, being prepared is half the battle.

Between black cats, broken mirrors, and flying feet, here’s your lucky checklist to make sure your dancer is ready to knock on wood and knock it out of the park.

🧳 The “Very Superstitious” Packing List

🔮 Costumes (Don’t leave any behind!)

Each routine’s costume should be packed in a labeled garment bag. Be sure to include every accessory — from glittery gloves to funky hats — and double-check you have all themed props for our superstitious show.

🧦 Tights (Bring extra to avoid bad luck!)

One run in a pair of tights can feel like a jinx. Pack extra pairs of each color your dancer needs — new or gently used. Tuck them into the garment bag for easy access.

🥿 Dance Shoes

Ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary — make sure every pair is packed, labeled, and performance-ready. A quick once-over the night before can save you from the "forgot-my-shoes" panic.

💄 Makeup Kit

Pack all stage makeup essentials: foundation, blush, eye shadow, liner, mascara, lipstick (usually red or per studio guidelines), and makeup wipes. Add a mirror and a towel — your backstage setup will thank you.

💇‍♀️ Hair Kit (Your backstage good luck charm!)

Buns, ponytails, curls — whatever style your dancer needs, be ready with hairspray, gel, bobby pins, elastics, combs, and a brush. Add glitter spray if your studio allows it (and if you're brave).

🧵 Emergency Fix-It Kit

Costume mishap? We don’t fear it — we fix it. Pack a small sewing kit, fashion tape, clear nail polish (for runs), and safety pins. It’s your dancer’s backstage rabbit’s foot.

🥨 Snacks & Water

Nut-free, mess-free snacks like crackers, fruit snacks, or dry cereal are perfect. Avoid sticky, chocolatey, or crumbly foods that could damage costumes. Water only — juice and white tutus do not mix.

📱 Entertainment for Downtime

There can be a lot of waiting in between routines. Quiet games, books, coloring pages, or headphones with a tablet (on low volume) are great ways to keep dancers calm and occupied.

📝 Show Schedule & Notes

Print the lineup, call times, costume changes, and any last-minute reminders from the studio. Put them in a folder or zip pouch to keep them neat and close by.

💖 Encouragement & Positivity

Backstage can be a high-energy place — nerves, excitement, and quick changes galore. Remind your dancer how proud you are, and help keep their spirits high. A confident smile is the best good luck charm.

✨ Bonus Tips from a Fusion Parent:

  • Pack the night before — superstition or not, last-minute scrambling rarely ends well.

  • Label EVERYTHING — dance shoes look suspiciously similar backstage.

  • Don’t forget your own essentials: phone charger, a comfy seat, and tissues for that proud-parent moment during the final bow.

The Fusion 2025 Revue: “Very Superstitious” is a celebration of talent, teamwork, and just a little bit of theater magic. With your dancer fully packed and prepared, all that’s left to do is sit back and enjoy the show. Break a leg (but not a mirror)!
